SOME POINT.
At some point in the evening, a light is going to shine down and you will have an epiphany and you’ll say, "I have to vote for Barack."

This line from Obama, reported at CJR, has been going around for the past couple days, and I wonder if it's the beginning of the end. Getting so close to explicit messianicism in his own words can only help to enhance the perception of his most rabid supporters as a cult. If people -- non-supporters and supporters alike -- are getting ready to start talking about how creepy some in the Obama base are, it's going to be a tough narrative to deal with. That's especially true if it happens now, at a time when Hillary Clinton has suddenly found a swath of small-dollar donors to tap. Whether it's her Super Tuesday showing, her urgent e-mails or more reaction to the MSNBC id, her people are suddenly opening their wallets. I can't imagine hearing that Obama thinks he's Jesus is going to do anything but make them pony up more.

I told you -- he is the antichrist. No one will pay any attention to what he's saying because they believe he will "change" things.

He will, and when they realize what he's changed, it will be too late.

Another tidbit I hear while driving the rental car back to the airport Wednesday: Obama has been absent for most of the "telling" votes in the Senate this year, thereby avoiding any possibility of being forced to declare his stand on a lot of important legislation. The only one that stands out is the troop withdrawal vote, which he attended.

Why isn't anyone pushing him to reveal his opinion on the rest of the work the Senate is doing (aside from Roger Clemons's ass) instead of listening to the "I will bring change" mantra and nodding their heads? So many cliches ("emperor's new clothes" and "where's the beef?") come to mind when I think about what he's saying (which is nothing, really) that it occurs to me that maybe Bill O'Reilly is right: Obama is just more likeable than Hillary. I heard a bunch of Republicans voted for Obama in Virginia because they didn't want Hillary to get the win, and O'Reilly chastised them, saying Obama has a better shot against McCain.

We're all doomed!
